In Mac OS X 10.5 and later, Mail automatically attempts to use thecommonly used ports of 25, 465, and 587; to specify a different port:
- From the Mail menu, select Preferences....In the window that appears, click Accounts.
- In the third section under the Account Information tab,from the menu next to 'Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP):' select EditSMTP Server List....
- In the sheet that drops down, click the mail server whose portsyou want to change; then click the Advanced tab.
- Select Use custom port: and then type the port number youwant to use.
- Click OK.
